The deadline to obtain your online boarding pass is up to 45 minutes for domestic flights and 60 minutes for international flights

  • Check, depending on the airport, the minimum time to check in, check your luggage and present yourself at the boarding lounge.
  • Make sure your reservation includes less than 8 people and that your flight itinerary does not exceed two connections between your origin and destination.
  • Online check-in will not be available if you have special service assignments or travel itineraries that include codeshare routes (shared flight segments).
  • For connections with other airlines you will only be able to check in on Avianca flights.
  • If you cannot use online check-in, access our kiosks located at the airport or check in 3 hours before your flight departure for international destinations.

Do it 24 hours before your flight from any device. Remember that when you check in online, your boarding pass will be displayed directly on your smartphone and you don't need to print it, just present it from your phone at the airport module or boarding lounge, as the case may be.

  1. Log in from your smartphone to the Avianca app or from your browser to Avianca.com and select the check-in option. 
  2. Enter your reservation code or ticket number and complete the requested information. 
  3. At the end, you will get your mobile boarding pass. You do not need to print it. 
  4. Show your boarding pass on your cell phone directly at the boarding lounge.

You can get your bag tag online, follow the steps below. 

  1. Go to web check in and fill in the requested information.
    (Remember to have your travel documents handy to make your check-in easier).
  2. In step 3 of web check in (Boarding Pass), you will find the options to obtain your baggage tag.
  3. Send your baggage tag to your e-mail address to print it at your convenience or you can get it immediately by clicking on print.
    (Remember to use good quality white letter size paper and a laser printer).
  4. Follow the instructions on how to fold the tag correctly.
  • Place it in the label holder that we will give you at the airport (keep it, you can use it on your next flight).
  • Deliver your luggage with the label in the module that we will provide for this service at the airport.

*Print and keep the receipts that contain the identification number of each tag; with these, you can track your luggage.

  1. Restricted items in checked baggage
    Items such as electronic cigarettes, barometers, mercury thermometers and lithium batteries cannot be transported as checked baggage, as they are considered dangerous. You may carry them with you in your carry-on baggage.
  2. Restricted items in carry-on baggage
    The following items cannot travel with you in the aircraft cabin; they must be transported exclusively in the hold. Remember that they must be properly packed to avoid any injury to the people in charge of handling the baggage and to ensure the safety of the flight.

If you check-in online 24 hours before your flight and you do not have a hold baggage check, you can arrive at the airport within the following times:

  • International flights: up to 2 hours before flight departure.
  • Domestic flights: up to 1 hour before flight departure.

Remember that it is necessary to present all required documents and comply with the required procedures before boarding.
