General conditions:

• Preferred seating service is optional and has an additional charge
• Book and purchase the service from the time your ticket is issued until 48 hours before the flight departure.
• The availability of services is subject to the number of seats available. 
• Space and seating arrangements may vary depending on the aircraft.
• The charge is per person and per flight segment.
• Not transferable to other passengers.
• Service not available for unaccompanied minors.
• The charge does not apply to passengers using any of our special services or to Elite travelers.
• Once the payment is made, you cannot change the number of the chosen seat.
• The value of the product varies according to the routes and the type of seat. This value is subject to change without notice.
• Duo seats are only available on the A330.
• Available only for flights operated and marketed by Avianca Holdings.

*Requirements for flying in an emergency exit seat:

• Be over 15 years old, travel without infants (under 2 years old) and not be pregnant.
• Speak English or Spanish. If you choose the seat next to the window, you must speak Spanish.
• Have the physical and motor skills to assist others in a possible evacuation.

Voluntary changes:

• If you change the route or the date of your flight, you can choose an equivalent seat on the new flight. If an equivalent seat is not available, the amount paid will be refunded.
• If the value of the new seat is greater than the initial purchase, the seat will be changed and the additional value charged.

Involuntary changes:

• In the event that a change is made for operational, mechanical or safety reasons (including a change of equipment), the airline does not guarantee the availability of the service.
• During the regular change/protection process, the system will automatically assign a seat with the same characteristics, depending on availability.
• When there is no availability to reserve your seat, your payment will be refunded and another seat will be assigned on the plane.

Refunds:

If you meet the following conditions, receive the value paid for the reservation of your seat:

• A similar seat cannot be assigned if on the day of the flight the option to reserve your seat is not available due to a change of plane, cancellation of the flight or crew requirements. Also, for operational or safety reasons.
• Due to unforeseen causes (illness, disability, death of the traveler or a relative in the first degree of consanguinity) or other fatalities (duly verified) that prevent the use of the service.
• The pre-assigned seat is not available.
• If you purchase a voluntary promotion before the flight departure.
• If you do not comply with the conditions to use the seat at the emergency exit.
• If you decide not to use your seat before your flight, the amount will be refunded.
